Just a simple growing update from the farm. Lot’s of gratuitous glamor shots all from the farm, except the last 2 I took at a local winery…. A special thanks to Brother Dave for helping out so much this season….. How’s your season growing so far?

You’re way ahead of us. It’s been dry this year and my vegetables are proceeding with all due caution.
Looks beautiful.
That chicken has some serious attitude! π
We lost 3 chickens yesterday – record heat here – Light Brahmas are not as heat tolerant as we thought. Had water….fan…. π¦ They just totally up and keeled over. Our production reds and barred rock are all doing well.
Some nice growth going on there π I am doing good ,but outside Celery seems dormant and not doing much. All else is growing well, but I do have most of what we grow inside a tunnel.Spuds and Brassicas outside are good and healthy and no sign of blight thank goodness!
That chicken didn’t want a picture taken!
Everything is looking fantastic, well done! Hope it continues to grow and grow…
Lovely to see the growing going on like that! π
That chicken does have quite an attitude…
The chookie and the flowers are very cool. π
Garden looks great, so do the chickens.
I want that chicken as my screensaver. π Everything looks great! Oh, that last shot is yum.
Beautiful pics. So jealous…
Looks great, Danny.Β I love what you are doing.

I don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait for the tomatoes to ripen….
Some evil critter has been eating the zucchini flowers over here! But peas are good (ending now) and eggplant and broccoli proceeding well. Love your pictures and am so glad I was able to stop in for this virtual visit this morning!
Great pictures! I have a RIR that gives me that same look. Hahaha!
looks like you recovered from the frost… Everything looks great! Love your chicken!
Lovely garden! Nice to see it recovered!
Great pics. Is that a watermelon the chickens have been eating? If so, lucky birds.
I’ve just come in from digging garlic and potatoes. Picking everything else this afternoon. It’s still muddy and crazy rainy here in southern Virginia, delaying us from planting our purple hull peas and slowing down some of our summer veggies. But the greens are loving it and many are still hanging in there.
Looks very nice!
Everything looks great! Love the chicken photo (:
Y’all should be proud! What a picturesque place you have. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve never seen your method of supporting tomatoes before (wire & ties? hard to tell on my screen). Do you find that’s easier/better than cages? I’m just starting out & have a mish-mash, trying to figure out what works best.
Love to see how much you can do on a manageable amount of land!
I run .020 wire from the fence to a channel post and tie up the plants with velcro. It’s inexpensive and simple to do.
Nice images to start my day with! I guess, if I can’t have my own farm, I can always come visit yours here! Wishing you a hearty growing season!
Outstanding pictures… Lovely place…
Cheers; Aquileana π
That looks like one very cross hen!!

You can see how much you love the land by all the progress you have made on your farm since you first moved in to it. The garden looks wonderful. I like your idea of donating to the needy and sharing your land with other as long as they donate some of the harvest to food banks. It is a great idea. Keep up the good work.
