I was pleased to see this photo. I bought six hens from an Amish family (my first ever), thinking that they were a “mutt” or some type of cross-bred bird. The young woman called them “Brown Commons.” Of course, I could find no record of such a breed. But they are identical to these! Same wispy white “collar,” white around the backside. Identical birds. I’m glad to have a positive ID. 🙂 Love your site.
